Fifteen families (60 residents) were displaced by an electrical fire at the Carroll Apartments in the Long Branch area in late July. Thankfully, there was no loss of life, but these neighbors lost their homes and personal belongings.

MHP is administering a special fund to help them get housed and back on their feet. This effort is guided by Long Branch Partners, an informal coalition that includes MHP, CHEER, Community Action Agency, Impact Silver Spring, Spanish Speaking Community of Maryland, YMCA Youth and Family Services, and Montgomery County government agencies.
