I have some exciting news to share: We’re getting ready to build a community center at Halpine Hamlet, our property in Rockville.
Nestled in the Twinbrook neighborhood, Halpine Hamlet is home to 64 families. With plenty of green space, a playground, and a vegetable garden, Halpine is just the right place to build community. But we want to take the next step and offer an indoor space for our residents to meet. With input from the families we serve, we envision a clubhouse with financial literacy classes, mom and tots group, resume writing workshops. Now, we need your help to make this dream a reality.
We’ve worked hard over the past couple of years to raise the $600,000 needed to convert a defunct pool house to a community center. We have secured funding from the County and the State. We have raised significant philanthropic support from the Sanford and Doris Slavin Foundation and other generous friends. Now that we have the construction funds in hand, we are turning to you to help us raise the seed money for the programs.
We need $20,000 to cover the program cost for the first year. Will you help us get there?
Your generosity will allow us to create a greater sense of community for the families living at Halpine and help us meet their needs year-round. We will survey the families and bring in local partners to tailor the programs we offer based on feedback from our residents. One thing is clear today: with your partnership, we will take another step in serving our community better. For that, we are grateful.
Thank you for your support.
