President, Montgomery Housing Partnership
Robert Goldman is the President of Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP). MHP is a private, nonprofit housing developer that acquires, rehabilitates, builds and manages quality affordable rental housing in Montgomery County, Maryland, and revitalizes distressed neighborhoods.
MHP’s holistic approach to preserving and expanding affordable housing in the County includes enhancing the vitality of the neighborhoods its properties are located in, and developing and implementing community life programs for residents in those neighborhoods.
Prior to joining MHP in 2001, Goldman worked as a Senior Development Officer at the Enterprise Social Investment Corporation (ESIC) where he was involved in syndicating low-income housing tax credit projects. He has also worked in housing policy on both the federal and local level.
Goldman has served on the Wheaton Redevelopment Steering Committee and the Long Branch Task Force. He is the Immediate Past President of the Board of Directors of the Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers (HAND), and a member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition and the Asset Building and Community Development Network. He served as the Chair of the Housing Committee for former D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams’ Transition Team.
Goldman received his Juris Doctorate from UCLA Law School, his Master’s degree in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University, and his Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Duke University. He co-authored, “Developing Affordable Assisted Living – Analysis of Some Cost Reduction Challenges,” which appeared in the 1999 NIC Review and received first prize in a national competition. He was born in Washington, D.C. He is married to Juliette Tracey Goldman and they have one child, Taylor Goldman.
